This is one of the greatest ironies in today’s church. The very Christians who take full advantage of scientific and technological progress still insist the earth is a mere five thousand years old, still believe Adam and Eve were its first inhabitants, still believe their story provides a true and credible account of human history, nature, and destiny. While otherwise enjoying and relying upon the scientific advancements of modernity, they utterly reject those same insights when trying to understand their origins and make sense of the human condition. In the process, they strain logic, defy common sense, and do great harm to the concept of God’s justice. Philip Gulley ☀
