Regarding Quote Posts

Generally, a “quote” post here consists of 1-2 paragraphs from the original “source material”. If it is 2 paragraphs, the text is joined together as one coherent stream of words, as the formatting here does not support multi-paragraph quote posts, but more essentially, a post with more than one paragraph is not a quote post anymore, but a “link” post or a “text” post.

Frankly, I do not understand the vituperation, as editors frequently join and split paragraphs. Is the text any less intelligible? Or are we living in an age where paragraphs beyond a sentence or two are strictly verboten? Do I really “disregard” the “source author” by presenting a unified frame of thought in one quote helping?

Thank you for the feedback :o)
