A Meta Tomorrow ☀
A few brief notations and tidings.
Uno, my Tumblr message box is starting to fill up faster than I can respond. While some “questions” are not intended for public consumption, and others just offering praise and commendation (including all the unwarranted adulation from supermodels ;)), most require enough thought and attention, that I am reluctant to fire off a quick response. Presently, there exist a couple of questions in the in-queue pertaining to the federal budget and taxes that I’d like to expound upon in multi-paragraph bursts. Hopefully, this weekend I shall tackle them and have answers published before Monday comes. And if you wish to ask me something, your odds of receiving a timely response are much greater if you are, in actuality, a real live Tumblr with an authentic profile avatar filled in.
Dos, I’ve embarked upon transferring my book reading lists into goodreads. Thus far, I’ve got my “currently reading” list, as well as a fraction of the books that are scattered between old school text files and WeRead. Incidentally, WeRead is the reason why I initially acquired a Facebook account — it was easier for a coworker and I to review our reading lists via the Facebook WeRead (or whatever it was called a few years ago) app. In the ensuing years, the WeRead Facebook integration has grown clunkier, and I never was satisfied with its “out of Facebook” experience either. Then toss in the lesser API support, and it cinches a long overdue decision to migrate to another application (or returning to plain old text files, which suit me aptly, but makes it hard to suit the whole social sharing scene). I do not know if Goodreads is an able long-term solution, but it’s getting a whirl. I have already reached out to some of you in Tumblrville, but all are welcome to join^H^H^H^H “friend” me on Goodreads. Or, to simply mock my book reading selections.
Enlivened about sharing books with and friends IRL (though, sadly, not many IRL read much at all, at least the circles I square with) and the Tumblrville fellowship (do any of you still read books?). At one time, I anticipated an entire Tumblr full of book reviews, quotes and discussions, open to contributions from any willing and able Tumblr, and still the hope might be rekindled.
