Why?
MBP would plug into ~7 year old ACD that might not have much life left (or perhaps it does) and also a need for another special adapter.

My new brain is a 13” MacBook Pro, exactly the right size for easy portability and writing. For dev/design I plug in a cheap/big LCD screen.

I’d go with 27” iMac. It’s quad core processor is very fast. eBay the monitor.

Like kevin said, it depends on how mobile you plan on being. Personally, I’d go with the MBP, but only because I already have a desktop.

if ur doing design or anything serious splurge out on a mac pro or high end pc. if its just for fun stuff that new imac is NICE
