blue bits. red rocks.

Members of our hydrocarbon based civilization cannot conceive of human life without our electrical grid which drives all those things that reduce man to the simple level of chickens who peck at a button to receive a grain of corn — or in our case, the microwave button or the coffee maker. The chances of getting human beings anywhere, in any culture, to get their head around human extinction are zero. Yet fear gnaws in the background. Hence, Al Gore gets the crass, politically driven Nobel Peace Prize for pointing vaguely in the direction of the truth, without ever acknowledging the truth that our white European property based corporate style of government is the primary obstacle to anything resembling progress, and that we are all, both liberals and conservatives, completely addicted to and utterly dependant upon it.
