There is no clash between psychic wellness and love of enemy. To love the enemy is not masochism or self-hatred but the widest kind of self-acceptance, the most inclusive way to receive one’s self as a gift from God and to share that selfhood with one’s fellow creatures who are no less loved and gifted by God.
